Not a single entry in August. Apologies. I don't really have any fantastic or inspiring excuse for my absence.
I had a busy summer, sure. From more time in Aspen to giving speeches in Kissimmee, Florida and many stops in between, it has been a whirlwind. Learned to kitesurf, invested in a startup, drank absurdly decadent wines, kicked it with Russell Simmons, watched my brother Brian's comedy career absolutely explode in LA, took two board seats, even launched a citywide WiFi network. Hopefully, more on all this later.
I started a few posts along the way, but the pressure to write something meaningful only increases with the obvious time away and each effort was soon abandoned. As if somehow I was chewing on profound concepts these past six weeks.
Whatever the case, hopefully I will fall back into the groove of spitting out one or two things worth reading. Thanks for hanging in.
I read this sentence out loud to a group of engineers from my team at lunch the other day and they cracked up like I did.
It touched off such a wave of nostalgia for the first machines we all used and when we first discovered the Internet. We all felt so old and yet so lucky.

It is hard to say such a thing is clear.
